Founding Assembly Conference of Ilham Tohti Initiative e. V. Conference on 12th December 2016 Ilham Tohti and the Uyghur Human Rights Ilham Tohti and the human rights of the Uyghurs – broadcast on Monday, December 12, 2016, live as the Bavarian State Parliament. Human rights activist Ilham Tohti was sentenced to life imprisonment in China two years ago. Now the Ilham Tohti Initiative met on the occasion of Human Rights Day together with the Society for Threatened Peoples, the Organisation of Unrepresented Nations and Peoples (UNPO) at the invitation of the Bavarian Greens in the Landtag.

ئىلھام توختى ئىنستىتۇتى (ITI) ئاممىۋىي تەشكىلات بولۇپ، ناھەق تۈرمىگە قامالغان ئۇيغۇر ئاكادېمىكى پروفېسسور ئىلھام توختىنىڭ نامىغا قۇرۇلغان. ئىلھام توختى خىتاي ھۆكۈمىتى تەرىپىدىن تۈرمىگە سولىنىشتىن بۇرۇن، ئۇيغۇرلار بىلەن خىتايلار ئارىسىدىكى زىددىيەتنى تىنچلىق ۋە دىئالوگ ئارقىلىق ھەل قىلىش، ئۇيغۇرلارنىڭ قانۇن ئالدىدىكى كەمسىتىلمىگەن باراۋەر پۇقرالىق ھوقۇقىنى قانۇنىي كاپالەتكە ئىگە قىلدۇرۇش، كۆپ سانلىقنى ئىگىلەيدىغان خىتاينىڭ خەن پۇقرالىرى بىلەن قانۇنى ئالدىدا تەڭ باراۋەر ھوقۇقلاردىن بەھرىمەن بولۇشىنى ئىشقا ئاشۇرۇش، شۇنداقلا خىتاي ھۆكۈمىتىنىڭ ئۇيغۇرلار ئۈستىدىن يۈرگۈزلىپ كېلىنىۋاتقان ئىرقىچىلىق، تەڭسىزلىك، ئادالەتسىزلىكلەرنى، ھوقۇق دەپسەندىچىلىكلىرىنى خىتاي خەلقىگە ۋە دۇنياغا ئاڭلىتىش يولىدا تۈرلۈك تەتقىقات ۋە ئاكتىپ ئاممىۋىي پائالىيەتلەرنى ئېلىپ بارغان ئىدى. ئىلھام توختى ئەپەندى ھاياتىنىڭ خەۋپكە ئۇچرىشىغا قارىماي، خىتاي ھۆكۈمىتىگە ئۆزىنىڭ تەكلىپ ۋە پىكىرلىرىنى دادىللىق بىلەن سۇنغان. ئەپسۇسلىنارلىقى، ئۇ 2014-يىلى خىتاي ھۆكۈمىتى تەرىپىدىن ئادالەتسىز سوتقا تارتىلىپ، ئۆمۈرلۈك قاماق جازاسىغا ھۆكۈم قىلىندى. ئىنستىتۇتىمىز پروفېسسور ئىلھام توختىنى قۇتۇلدۇرۇش ۋە ئۇنىڭ ئۇيغۇر خەلقىنىڭ ھەق – ھوقۇق دەپسەندىچىلىكلىرى ئۈستىدە ئېلىپ بارغان ئىلمىي ئەمگەكلىرىنى، جىددىي ۋە تەخىرسىز بولۇۋاتقان ئۇيغۇرلار مەسىلىسىنى تىنچلىق ئۇسۇلى بىلەن ھەل قىلىش چارىسىنى تېپىپ چىقىش ۋە ئەمەلگە ئاشۇرۇش يولىدا قىلغان خىزمەتلىرىنى دۇنياغا بىلدۈرۈش، شۇنداقلا، ئۇنىڭ تەتقىقاتلىرىنى داۋاملاشتۇرۇش ئۈچۈن خىزمەت قىلىدۇ؛ ئىنستىتۇتىمىز ئۇيغۇرلارنىڭ بىرلەشكەن دۆلەتلەر تەشكىلاتى ئىنسان ھەقلىرى باياناتنامىسى ۋە خەلقئارا قانۇندا بەلگىلەنگەن بارلىق ھەق – ھوقۇقلىرىنىڭ بۇزغۇنچىلىققا ئۇچراش ئەھۋاللىرى ئۈستىدە ئىزدىنىش، تەكشۈرۈش ۋە خەلقئارا جامائەتكە ئاشكارىلاش قاتارلىق خىزمەتلىرىنى پائال تۈردە ئېلىپ بارىدۇ؛ ئىلھام توختى ئەپەندىم قۇرغان «ئۇيغۇر بىز» تور بېكىتىنى ئەسلىگە كەلتۈرۈش ۋە بۇ تور بېكەتكە قويۇلغان مۇناسىۋەتلىك ماتېرىياللارنى ئېنگلىزچە ۋە ئۇيغۇرچە تەرجىمە قىلىپ، تەتقىقاتچىلار ۋە ئۇيغۇر خەلقىنىڭ پايدىلىنىش ئۈچۈن تەقدىم قىلىنىدۇ؛ ئىلھام توختىنىڭ ھاياتى ۋە ئىش –پائالىيەتلىرى ھەققىدە مەخسۇس كىتاب ۋە ژۇرناللارنى نەشىر قىلىپ، دۇنيانىڭ ئىلھام توختىنى ۋە نۆۋەتتىكى جىددى بولۇۋاتقان «ئۇيغۇر قىرغىنچىلىقى» تراگېدىيەسىنى چۈشىنىشى ئۈچۈن كۆۋرۈكلۈك رول ئوينايدۇ. ئۇيغۇرلار ۋەزىيىتىگە دائىر ئەڭ ئىشەنچلىك ئۇچۇر مەنبەسى بولۇش بىلەن بىرگە، ئۇيغۇرلار ھەققىدىكى ئەڭ يېڭى تەتقىقات ۋە مەلۇماتلارنى دۇنياغا سۇنۇشنى نىشان قىلىدۇ.

Founding Assembly of the ITI (2016)
The official Foundation Assembly of ITI was held at the Bavarian Parliament on 12 of December 2016 in a Conference hosted by the Greens led by Ms. Margarete Bause. The Conference was attended by prominent Scholars, human rights activists and Uyghur politicians such as Prof. Marie Holzmann, Ursuala Gauthier, Louisa Greve (NED) Erkin Alptekin and Orkash Devlet from Taiwan.

Mr. Uerkesh Davlet’s election as the Honorary President of the Board of Directors of the Ilham Tohti Institute
PRESS RELEASE Ilham Tohti Institute For immediate Release CET 17 June 2020 Subject: Mr. Uerkesh Davlet’s election as the Honorary President of the Board of Directors of the Ilham Tohti Institute We are pleased to announce the recent election of Mr. Uerkesh Davlet as the honorary President of the Board of Directors of the Ilham Tohti Institute. Mr. Davlet, also known as Wu’er Kaixi in the world Media in 1989 as the former student leader of the “Beijing Tiananmen Student Movement“ is a well known human rights activist and a brave freedom fighter. We welcome Mr. Davlet on the Board whom we will be benefiting from his sound judgement, political experience and wisdom. He was one of the founders of the former Ilham Tohti Initiative in Munich, Germany in 2016. Mr. Davlet, in his capacity as a student leader of the “Beijing Tiananmen Student Movement“ in an open letter sent to the members of the European Parliament, where he called them to choose imprisoned Uyghur academic Ilham Tohti for the Sakharov Award for “Freedom of Thought“ in 2016. Finally, Ilham Tohti was awarded the Sakharov Prize in 2019. The Ilham Tohti Initiative was also instrumental in proposing Ilham Tohti for the Sakharov, Vaclav Havel and some other international human rights Awards. “This courageous and brave, young Uyghur man was my inspiration and pride“ says Mr. Enver Can, President of the newly renamed Ilham Tohti Institute, recalling his memory of three decades ago: “I was working for the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty as a journalist when I first saw Mr. Davlet’s photo with the former CCP Leader Li Peng and reported about the demands of the pro Democracy students in Beijing 31 years ago“.
